DLNY CONNECT

For Mentorship

Connections

The DLNY Connect mentorship program was created in 2017 to help rising choreographers (18+) by matching them with experts in the field and future muses about to enter the workforce. Over the course of one week, mentors will observe the participant as they create with talented dancers from area universities and then meet privately with them to offer feedback and guidance. While the emphasis of DLNY is on the artistic process and the power of a strong network of support, dances created during DLNY Connect may be shown as part of videos, school showcases, or may be presented in private, open studio forums.

Our residencies provide dancemakers with:

• a salary
• a company of professional dancers
• expansive studio space
• a rehearsal director
• artist-led administrative support
• digital assets
• structured time for incubation
• zero pressure to produce finished product
