Dance Lab New York is proud to honor three remarkable individuals who embody excellence, impact, and allyship in the field of choreography.  Prolific and acclaimed choreographers Mandy Moore and Stephen Petronio have each shaped the landscape of dance through their artistic vision and mentorship of future generations, while ally Alicia B. Adams has exposed thousands of audience members to innovative dance through her bold leadership and enduring commitment to the arts. Join us in celebration of their collective achievements!

Mandy Moore is a world class Choreographer, Director, and Producer who has garnered three Emmy Awards among her 14 collective nominations. She is best known for her groundbreaking work as a producer and choreographer on the global television hit So You Think You Can Dance. In 2017 Mandy made history by being the first choreographer to choreograph the Golden Globe Awards, Academy Awards, Grammy Awards and Emmy Awards in the same year. Her highly acclaimed choreography can be seen throughout Damien Chazelle’s original movie musical La La Land. Recent projects include Taylor Swift’s The Eras World Tour, and John Krasinski’s Imaginary Friends. Mandy is widely considered one of the dance industry’s primary mentors for young and evolving talent.

Stephen Petronio is an acclaimed American choreographer, dancer, and artistic director known for his innovative and boundary-pushing work in contemporary dance. As a graduate of Hampshire College, an early student of Steve Paxton, and the first male dancer in the Trisha Brown Dance Company, Petronio has made a significant impact. In 1984, Petronio founded the Stephen Petronio Company, committed to touring and performing throughout the world. Petronio’s choreography challenged traditional notions of movement and explored themes of sexuality, gender, and identity. His commitment to collaboration and his relentless pursuit of innovation have solidified his place as one of the most influential choreographers of his generation.
