Dance Lab New York is proud to serve as many choreographers each year as we can. We support dancemakers from multiple genres and those experimenting with new ones.

The Lab Cycle is our core program for dancemakers — includes one week of free exploration time in a large column-free space with a company of professional, insured dancers, a rehearsal director and support from the DLNY staff. We invite choreographers of all backgrounds, ages, genders, races, abilities and experience levels to apply.
Launched in 2025, the Choreographer & Composer Lab is a weeklong residency supporting dancemakers and their musical collaborators.
Launched in 2023 with Resident Director & Choreographer, Jerron Herman, the Disability Led Lab supports choreographers creating dance that centers the experiences, perspectives, and creative contributions of disabled artists.
DLNY CONNECT is designed to create mentorship opportunities for promising emerging choreographers. Mentees are paired with a mentor in the field and talented student dancers from area universities. We invite choreographers of all backgrounds, ages, genders, races, abilities and experience levels to apply. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Our DLNY NextGen Apprenticeship is for gifted choreographers ages 14-18 who are invested in cultivating a creative practice and demonstrate a high level of artistic potential in tandem with emerging leadership skills. We invite choreographers of all backgrounds, genders, races, and abilities to apply. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Due to the technical demands of this beloved art form, tap dance choreographers often lack resources for creative discovery. DLNY is proud to provide them a supportive space to explore their craft. We are honored to have Ayodele Casel and Torya Beard as Resident Directors to assemble our diverse roster of choreographers and dancers.
Designed to support choreographers who may live or work outside NYC, each dancemaker in a Nexus Lab is provided one week of structured creative time with a company of professional dancers, a rehearsal director, and support from the DLNY staff, all via Zoom. We invite choreographers of all backgrounds, ages, genders, races, abilities and experience levels to apply.

DLNY Bespoke Labs were designed to create a lab tailor-made to your budget and specifications. Let us focus on the administrative/general management needs of your lab so that you can focus on creation.
The Broadway Choreography Intensive (BCI) is a one-of-a-kind program designed to give aspiring Musical Theatre choreographers unparalleled access to mentorship in the art of making dance for Broadway.

Dance Lab New York hires highly trained, stylistically versatile dancers of all backgrounds. High level of skill is a must. Dancers work with and learn choreography from multiple choreographers, so adaptability and versatility are necessary. Dancers must also have a strong attention to detail and a memory for complex choreography. We invite dancers of all backgrounds, races, genders, abilities, and ages to apply.
Please note, all dancers must be available for all hours of rehearsal. No exceptions. Rehearsal schedules will always be made available prior to contracting.
